Amarillo, TX, November 6, 2026 — The Cleveland Browns are preparing to have Shedeur Sanders take the starting quarterback position for an upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints. This change in the lineup is a direct result of the current starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, being placed in concussion protocol.

Details regarding the specific date or context of this game were not provided in the summary. The report indicates that Sanders will step into the primary quarterback role for the Browns when they face the Saints. This situation highlights the importance of player health and the protocols in place for managing injuries, particularly concussions, within professional sports leagues.

The decision to start Shedeur Sanders, while not elaborated upon in terms of his prior experience with the team or his career trajectory, signifies a temporary shift in the Browns’ offensive strategy. The team will be looking to maintain their performance and competitive edge with Sanders under center.

Deshaun Watson’s absence due to concussion protocol means he will be sidelined until he clears the league’s medical guidelines. The duration of his recovery and return to play will be determined by medical professionals and the established protocol. Further updates on Watson’s condition and Sanders’ performance are anticipated as the situation develops.

The summary did not provide information about Shedeur Sanders’ prior involvement with the Cleveland Browns organization or his specific role before this starting opportunity. Additionally, the outcome of any previous games involving these teams or any history between them was not detailed.
