Amarillo, TX, October 14, 2026 —

Local news coverage in Amarillo featured a Canyon ISD football press conference with Randall head coach Dan Sherwood, alongside a High School Football Pick Em segment focused on Week 8 matchups.

The games named in the coverage summary were Shallowater versus Bushland, Palo Duro versus Wylie, and West Plains Wolves versus Canyon Eagles. The West Plains-Canyon matchup was identified as the Game of the Week.

The summary says the segment included predictions, but it does not provide the picks or identify which teams were favored. It also does not give scores, game dates, kickoff times or results. No additional details about the press conference, including what Sherwood said or which topics were discussed, were provided.

The available information therefore identifies the teams and the segment’s focus, but does not establish the reasoning behind the predictions or report any outcomes. It also does not specify when the coverage aired or provide further information about the format of the press conference. The named matchups are the extent of the game details included in the summary.

Without the specific picks or results, the segment can be described as a preview of selected Week 8 high school football games, rather than a report on how those games played out. The summary does not state whether other matchups were discussed.
